The Cornerstone of Shared Governance is a Unit-Based Council

Tue. September 18| 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM |

After this session, you’ll be able to:
  1. Decribe the framework of shared governance.
  2. Understand the elements of establishing a unit-based council.
  3. Communicate appropriate projects for unit-based councils to execute.

Why this is important:

Shared governance is an important management model in which decisions are made at the point of service. Establishing unit-based councils with front line staff is an important element towards the goal of true shared governance. In this presentation, veteran leader, Amy Bethel will outline the steps necessary to form a unit-based council, including everything from charter samples to front line staff membership, examples of projects, and rules of the committee. In addition to imparting all you need to know to introduce a structure of shared governance in your facility, Bethel will send you home with a toolkit full of resources built on firsthand experiences to help you along the way.
