Our New Reality: The Importance of Ensuring Good Reporting in Your ASC

Mon. September 17| 1:30 PM - 2:45 PM |

After this session you’ll be able to:

  1. Understand what OAS CAHPS is and what preparation should be made for surveying.
  2. Identify methods of communication to enhance the patient's experience.
  3. Explain the importance of empathy for our patients.

Why this is important:

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will soon begin publicly reporting results from the OAS CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Survey) for all hospital outpatient departments and ambulatory surgery centers, thus giving the public a glimpse of how quality of care compares from facility to facility, from the patient’s perspective. This “can’t miss” session will identify simple concepts you can take back to your organization and implement to enhance the patient experience. Never before has it been more important to discuss what needs to be done to ensure good reporting in your facility. It is vital in the ever-changing healthcare industry that we make every attempt to put the patient at the focus of our care. The answer is to tend to them the way we would want one of our family members treated.
